In 2009 I had nose surgery, cheekbone reduction, and facial fat grafting at WJ (wŏn-in). Since they can do everything together while you're under sedation, at the time I felt there was an advantage. But honestly, the grafted fat did not even hold its volume for 2 years. And of course they'll say that's not true, but after the fat grafting I once in a while got unusually large pimples... the kind that really didn't seem like ordinary acne. One huge one would suddenly pop up. It felt almost like the grafted fat was being secreted out and disappearing with the sebum... On my forehead there were tiny bumpy closed comedones........ And after the volume decreased, I got filler, and the filler feeling was much better than the soft, droopy feeling of fat. The skin feel is closer to filler-_-
Thinking about it now, of course the reason they recommend fat grafting during surgery is obvious. Fat grafting can only be done under sedation, and because it makes everything look softer overall, it can make the results of the other surgery look better too... You'd think that since it's autologous fat there are no side effects... It may not be a side effect, but I've seen quite a lot of people whose sebum production increased and pores enlarged, and in any case the forehead feeling mushy was really not good... If you understand what I mean, it feels like a butt with no elasticity stuck to your forehead?? You can't exactly give fat elasticity And the cheek fat seemed to have gone out with the sebum... Especially if you have little facial fat and are considering fat grafting, please take this as a reference! The activity of fat-degrading enzymes differs by body part, so even if you graft thigh or abdominal fat into the face, if your own facial fat tends to break down easily, that fat will also break down easily... Fat grafting seems too easy to get recommended, so I'm sharing this because I hope people will be careful and think it through!
