I visited because the reviews on GNUN were the most to my taste. Honestly, there weren’t many online reviews, so I dug through Naver Cafe and did a lot of research before going, and it seemed okay. I liked that there weren’t tons of events on Gangnam Unni. There is a consultation fee. I made a weekday daytime reservation and went, and there was almost no wait before I met with the director. The clinic is small but neat, and the ceilings are high. The word that it feels like a gallery really fits. That said, the building itself has a lot of clinics and is tall, so there were like 3 elevators and it was a pain. Still, you can take the escalator straight from the subway station into the building, and the clinic is on the 3rd floor, so if you take the escalator it’s not bad. I consulted with the male director, and he looked very tired, and it felt like he would do what I asked without recommending surgery. It was the kind of consultation where the doctor doesn’t tell you things first; if I took the lead and talked, he would answer. This was the first clinic that told me not to do epicanthoplasty. When I insisted that I wanted it, he said then do it on only one side, which shows how much they prioritize a natural look. The director held up a hand mirror, adjusted the line a few times, and the consultation ended in under 20 minutes? After that, I got a price consultation with the manager and went home. On the surgery day, it was a weekday evening, and parking at the building wasn’t too bad. I went into the consultation room, paid, took pre-op photos, and changed clothes. After changing, I met the director, had the line marked, and waited in the waiting room. The waiting room was a sealed private room for one person, which I liked! I waited on a one-person sofa. What was really terrifying was that while I was waiting in the waiting room and then sitting for a moment on the chair in front of the operating room before going in, I heard someone screaming and sobbing inside the operating room, and the male doctor saying, “Be quiet. Stay still.” It was honestly terrifying. It was my first ever cosmetic surgery, so after hearing someone screaming, I seriously wondered if I should just not do it. The manager who had done my consultation came and said something like they were in the middle of a thread lift... I had been thinking about getting thread lifting later too, but I gave up right away. That alone was scary, but because the clinic is small, that part was a bit disappointing. (There’s a glass door right next to the director’s room leading into the operating area, and right next to that is the operating room, a room with beds, and then you turn a corner to get to the waiting room.) During the surgery, I felt someone touching my eyes and woke up, and they told me to open my eyes so they could set the line. The lights were bright so I couldn’t open my eyes well, and the doctor said in a slightly annoyed voice that surgery wouldn’t go well like this, which made me nervous. It was nice that KakaoTalk replies were good even at night. Also, every time I went to get the ointment applied during follow-up, it was nice that I could meet the doctor and ask questions (at that time, he was very kind!). I was also satisfied that the doctor gave feedback on the questions I had asked in KakaoTalk when I went in to have the ointment applied. Maybe because the hands are skilled, even though it was an incision, there wasn’t much swelling and not much bruising. Once the stitches came out, the swelling went down quickly (I didn’t go for walks). It’s been about 8 months, and the double-eyelid scar is almost invisible! The epicanthoplasty scar is there, but unless I deliberately pull the eye forward, it doesn’t show. I wasn’t even consistently applying Dermatix, but it turned out naturally well, so I’m very satisfied!! It became very natural, and I was worried because I had a lot of eyelid fat, but I didn’t end up with sausage eyes. If anything, I wish I had made the epicanthoplasty a little wider. The only downside is that the line was made too short, so even though I had double eyelids, the line and the sagging... If the director had been just a little kinder during the first consultation, it would have been better. The consultation manager and the counter staff were all kind!
