My lips weren’t extremely thin to begin with, but overall they felt like they were a little lacking in volume. Even when I put on lipstick, they didn’t turn out as pretty as I expected.
I didn’t want to make my lips dramatically bigger; I wanted to preserve my original shape as much as possible and only naturally fill in the lacking parts, so after thinking it over, I got lip filler. During the consultation, I also said I didn’t want an overly plump look and that I only wanted to add natural volume.
They looked at my lip shape and explained which areas would be good to refine, and instead of putting in too much, we decided to balance the overall proportions. I was able to watch them open a new filler package right in the procedure room, and they kept checking the shape in between while doing the procedure, which I liked.
Right after, because of the swelling, they looked a bit fuller than I wanted, so at first I wondered if it was a bit too much, but once the swelling went down, it became much more natural. As the overall volume came up a little, the lip line also became more defined than before, and the flat feeling was greatly reduced.
It felt less like my lips got much bigger and more like the parts my original lips lacked were simply filled in? My lips weren’t thin to begin with, so I wondered whether I really needed filler at all, but after doing it I realized there really is a difference between having it and not having it. It’s not a huge dramatic change, but lipstick applies more nicely and my overall impression has changed a little, so I’m satisfied.
I think it would suit people who just want a natural boost in volume too. I also like the director’s aesthetic sense, so I think I’ll settle on Dresse for small procedures.
