10-Year SMILE LASIK Review (High Myopia, Astigmatism)

I had SMILE LASIK surgery during the very early days of the procedure! (Surgery in February 2017) At the time, it had just been introduced, so I had doubts about its reliability, but my vision was so poor that I had almost no options. Regular LASIK and LASEK were not possible, and the only option was lens implantation. Before surgery I underwent many detailed tests, and fortunately, although my vision was in the bottom 10%, my corneal health, including corneal thickness, was in the top 10%, so they said I was right at the threshold for SMILE LASIK eligibility. Pre-op vision: L myopia -9.0 astigmatism -3.0, R myopia -9.25 astigmatism -2.5. Post-op vision: around 1.0 to 1.2 (lately I feel it has dropped a little). Pros: simple surgery process, fast recovery period, no glare at all, almost no dryness. Cons: after a long time has passed since surgery, my vision has dropped a bit. My vision was so bad that after SMILE LASIK I felt like I had been reborn, and I went around heavily recommending it to everyone. In fact, more than 5 friends around me had the surgery after hearing me talk about it. (My friends said they got discounts by using my name as the referrer.. I was the first person, so I didn't get any discount. They did send me gift cards as thanks for recommending it.. haha) According to the friend who had surgery most recently, the SMILE LASIK Pro version came out, and while it is a bit expensive, the surgical process is a little simpler, so if you're thinking about vision correction surgery, please get a consultation!!
