I had double jaw surgery because of jaw dislocation, and one year later my life changed

I am someone who had bimaxillary surgery with Director Shin Hee-jin at I-oo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and it's been 1 year haha. Because of malocclusion, I also had a TMJ disc issue and jaw dislocation, so I had a lot of functional discomfort and decided on surgery, and the dentist I was seeing in my neighborhood recommended I-oo Oral Surgery, so I ended up deciding on surgery with a lot of trust! Below, for people who are planning bimaxillary surgery, I summarized my progress journal from month 1 to the present so it will be easy to read, and I hope it helps with your surgery! 1 month: I felt a slight underbite-like look and the swelling was not completely gone, but I returned to daily life faster than expected and eating was not particularly inconvenient, so early recovery felt okay. 2-3 months: As sensation returned to my jaw, the swelling visibly went down and my face shape looked more organized. There was a slight feeling that my bite was off in the middle, but it was within a range that could be adjusted sufficiently, so with treatment it gradually became more stable. 4 months: Sensitivity to cold and jaw trembling also decreased a lot, so it felt like recovery was progressing naturally. 5-6 months: I could get by without major discomfort, and it was a stage where I only had to pay attention to wearing elastics, so daily life itself became much easier. 7-8 months: As the bite settled better, the result became clearer, and although the orthodontic period got a little longer, it wasn't too burdensome if I thought of it as a process of making things more precise! 9-10 months: I recovered to the point where I could eat almost all hard foods, and it felt like the finishing stage of orthodontic treatment, where only the details were being refined. 11 months: My regular dentist changed, so I continued orthodontic treatment a bit more, but there was almost no discomfort, and I thought of it as part of making the result even better T_T haha Current: As of the 1-year mark, aside from the fact that the retention period has gotten a bit longer, there are almost no inconveniences in daily life or function, and the biggest satisfaction is that the TMJ problem and jaw dislocation that stressed me out the most before surgery have clearly improved!!! My face shape has also been organized naturally without looking too obvious, so I can clearly feel that both function and appearance have improved, and I'm so satisfied with the surgery result!!
