Things I did not know when I started orthodontic treatment

I am sharing some things I regretted because I did not look into orthodontic information much before starting! 1. After orthodontic treatment, I would have to keep a retainer on the back of my teeth for the rest of my life. - This was something I did not know before orthodontic treatment. I was really surprised when they attached a retainer behind my teeth after finishing treatment. In fact, they also gave me a removable retainer, but I did not wear it for such a long time that it no longer fits well. It seems like teeth move little by little even if you have a retainer. I recommend wearing the removable retainer properly too. Especially for women, they say the alignment can shift again during pregnancy or childbirth, so when that time comes for me, I plan to wear it again or have the retainer remade. 2. Extractions... I knew I would have to have teeth extracted after deciding on orthodontics, but I had four teeth extracted at once. I was really shocked then. I was flustered about whether it was okay to pull out perfectly healthy teeth, but the doctor reassured me, though I was truly, truly surprised! 3. My mouth protruded more than I expected, and I had hoped orthodontic treatment would make a visible difference, but that effect is limited.
