Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

My protruding mouth was fully corrected with double jaw surgery at 32 So satisfied!

It has already been 6 months since my double jaw surgery.. time really flies! Functionally I had no problems, and I did it because of a protruding mouth and a long face. When I got my photo taken and smiled, my gums would show all the way and I looked like a caveman, as if someone had stretched my mouth in Photoshop, so I always covered my mouth when smiling, and it became a habit. Now, even when I smile broadly, my upper gums do not show much and my gums themselves are set back, so I love having my smile photographed! My gummy smile also improved and my gums themselves moved back a lot!! My face was also on the long side, but my friends say my face got shorter lol >< Overall I am so satisfied with the result now, and I went to my 6-month checkup recently and when I looked at the before-and-after photos I really thought, why did I only do this now? I had the surgery at [Clinic A], and I found it because YouTube Shorts showed before-and-after photos, so I started searching the hospital from then on. They had a long track record, and I found two people in the forum I use who said they had the surgery there! After the consultation, I felt the counseling fit me well, so I made up my mind, and I really think choosing to have surgery there was the right decision!! If I had any regret, it is that because it was such a big surgery I was scared and hesitated for over a year, so I regret not doing it a little earlier I had no physical pain after surgery, but because I was psychologically anxious, apart from my mind being a little messed up in the early period, everything else was fine! (I was scared because there were many things I did not know, but if I had to do it again now, I think I could handle it well without losing my mind) If you just follow the hospital’s instructions carefully and be cautious about what you need to be cautious about, recovery seems to go faster. After surgery and discharge, breathing was difficult for a few days! Like other people say, if you just hold out for one week, it becomes manageable. I had IVRO, so my mouth was wired shut for two weeks, and not being able to eat made my body really tired The hard part at the beginning was the same as what many people wrote about! Once I started daily life again, the worries I had after the double jaw surgery just became dull and I forgot about them, and as time passed, everything really got resolved! For example, even at month 4 there were times when I could not open my mouth well and only two fingers would fit, or sometimes they would not fit at all, so I worried a lot I also stopped doing mouth exercises at some point But recently, while living normally, I tried putting my fingers in and now even four fingers fit! Chewing was also said to get fine by month 3, but my chewing strength was weak, so I could not even chew small diced radish kimchi well, but now that I have reached 6 months, I can really chew everything well. I worried a lot that I might never be able to chew food properly again, but now I feel the pleasure of chewing every time I bite into something crisp. I also had lip rolling and my lips were uneven, but now they have gone back to their original size? They have recovered well lol (really, one day you suddenly notice and realize they are back) The swelling peaked on days 5 and 6, and after that it slowly went down, but the residual swelling really does last a long time. I personally did not have much facial swelling to begin with, and I only went on walks equivalent to walking a dog. Even though it seemed like a lot of the facial swelling had gone down, when I look at the photos I took back then later, I can see it had gone down little by little. Especially my front cheeks were really, really puffy, so I wondered if they would ever go down, but now compared to then, they have gone down a lot!! Even at months 3 and 4 I was stressed because of the front cheeks, but time really does reduce it; it just takes a long time (though honestly, having a little swelling still might actually look better) As for sensation, after surgery I had almost all of it except in the cheekbone area and the front chin! After surgery, the left side of my front chin had absolutely no sensation, and when I touched it, the gums and the feeling of sensitive teeth made it uncomfortable to apply lotion, but at some point it became less noticeable and now the sensation has clearly recovered a lot, maybe around 65% from 0%? Even the cold-stinging feeling from the slightest touch has mostly gone away This is really happy news. Some people say sensory recovery takes a long time and can come back even at 6 months to 1 year, and it really does come back!!!! Time is the medicine!! If you wait, it all comes back! It seems like there are also many people who recover quickly, but my partial recovery was a bit slow. Still, now it is very, very good. I was also worried because people said there is a lot of nonunion in the cheekbones, but when I checked the CT, they showed me that the bones were attaching properly at the back, so I felt relieved!! So I have already booked pin removal for next week! I guess I am really graduating from double jaw surgery now Anyway, for those who had surgery recently or are scheduled soon, even though it is hard and time seems not to pass at first, once you get back into daily life the time goes by very quickly. Just grit your teeth and endure for one month; after that it will really start moving fast. I was still not chewing properly even at month 4, so I was really worried, but now that it has been more than 6 months since surgery, I am chewing so, so well. Time is the medicine!!!!!!
