I chose oral and maxillofacial surgery after only looking at plastic surgery clinics

When I was thinking about double jaw surgery, the scariest thing honestly was, "Sure, looking better is great, but what if I end up with a functional problem?" At first I looked mostly at plastic surgery clinics too, but because double jaw surgery is connected to the jawbone, occlusion, and teeth, I eventually came to value oral and maxillofacial surgery more. Before surgery, the heaviness and stuffy feeling in my lower face was stressful. Especially in photos, my jaw looked more prominent, and even when I had a neutral expression, I worried that my face looked a little dull. He explained in great detail why my facial balance looked the way it did, all the way down to my occlusion and jaw position. The 3D-CT and 3D facial scanner analysis and surgical planning were also very thorough, and I could clearly feel the level of expertise in the way they carefully checked even the nerve line. I also felt more reassured because Director Kang Young-ho personally handled everything from consultation to surgery and follow-up checks. It was good not having to worry about substitute surgery, and having a board-certified anesthesiologist on site providing dedicated one-on-one anesthesia also put my mind at ease before such a major operation. After surgery, what I am most satisfied with is how my overall facial line feels cleaner. It does not just feel like my jaw got smaller; the shape around my mouth and the mood of my lower face softened naturally, and my impression became much cleaner and more refined than before. After doing it myself, I really understood why it is important to approach double jaw surgery not just as cosmetic surgery, but from an oral and maxillofacial surgery perspective that properly looks at the jawbone and occlusion.
