It is really just a tiny one, and back then I did only a little with the silicone + autologous cartilage trend of that time, so I do not know whether this would be useful to anyone, but I am leaving it in case someone is curious about a nose surgery review that is more than 10 years old.
Even if my nose is a little raised, I have no issues. These days people say that once you have nose surgery, contracture will definitely come later, but so far I have no sign of that.. (Even if there were, I might not know.) I hated my bulbous nose so much that I had been waiting for it, and then I got it done in my 30s.
The choice of hospital was honestly ridiculous even to me. My company senior had an eye surgery, and she said the women coming out of the plastic surgery clinic she went to had noses that were so pretty, so I just went there too. The reason was that the hospital displayed before-and-after photos, and no matter what kind of nose you gave them, the same shape came out. I thought my nose would become that same kind of nose too. The price was around 3.5 million won, which was quite expensive 12 years ago. The doctor said my nasal bridge was a bit thick and might need to be broken during surgery. The rest would have to be seen after opening me up, which was a rather irresponsible thing to say, and then I went into surgery.
I had silicone + ear cartilage, but it was only 3 to 4 mm. Others said their swelling went down completely in 1 or 2 weeks, but mine did not go down, and all I remember is drinking pumpkin juice for more than 2 months. Looking back now, I regret not making it just a little higher.
What changed after the nose surgery: - Nobody notices. They only know if I tell them. (Even plastic surgeons do not notice...) - Instead of people asking whether I had nose surgery, they ask whether I had eye surgery. - My eyes are ordinary eyes with double eyelids, but people never used to say that. After my nose became higher, people started asking whether I had eye surgery. (New people I meet ask me that 100% of the time.) - I get more nose boogers (painful) - People say the side line of my nose is so pretty
I actually still want to do more because my bulbous nose is still there, but after looking into reviews and visiting clinics, I realized a bulbous nose is still a bulbous nose no matter what you do. It seems you need more than three surgeries before it disappears, and doing two or three more in my 40s feels impossible, so I am just keeping it as a dream.
I wrote this because I want to be able to say that it is still holding up well even when I am old.
