My face was generally pretty average everywhere else, but only the tip of my nose sagged a little, so I looked somewhat dull. On top of that, my left nostril was badly blocked, so tossing and turning every night had become part of my daily life. I went to GNG Hospital, where there is an ENT specialist, because I wanted to improve both function and appearance at the same time. After the consultation, I sat on a nearby bench and thought quietly for a long time. I was worried about having surgery as a man, and I was also afraid I would end up looking unnatural. Still, because the nasal obstruction was so severe, I decided to go ahead with the functional-aesthetic nose surgery. I asked them to just refine the bridge line with septal cartilage. The drooping nose tip that had been bothering me was also lifted slightly using the septum. At first, every time I went to the convenience store wearing a mask, I felt intimidated by other people’s eyes. But once the swelling went down, it’s clear that the bridge line became cleaner. With the nose tip naturally becoming more defined, the side profile seems better balanced too. People around me didn’t even notice, and only said I looked more neat and composed. Most of all, now that my stuffy nose is open, breathing feels so much more comfortable.
