I had surgery with autologous costal cartilage 2 weeks ago, and because the tip is high like Pinocchio and the foreign-body sensation and the philtrum not moving are bothering me, I’m planning early removal. I didn’t do the bridge. I chose [Clinic A] as the surgical hospital and went to 3 consultations. But I’m torn between removing the entire nasal tip and leaving the autologous cartilage support in place. Of course, they said that if a lot of the support is left, it can be lowered a lot and would be less uncomfortable than now. But if the rib support is left behind, even if it’s not a piggy nose, will I still not be able to touch it freely or blow my nose because of the stiffness? When I had ear cartilage done before, it wasn’t a piggy nose, but it was super comfortable, and I could move it freely, though I removed it... If anyone has left the support in place, please let me know.
