I found out about this through a friend's recommendation and went for a consultation. Four out of the five places I consulted with recommended incision and eye correction (+ upper canthoplasty), but Heart Plastic Surgery was the only place that recommended buried sutures and epicanthoplasty. I had heard that eye correction has many side effects, so I was very glad that they did not recommend it, but I could not find much about them even after searching online, which was disappointing. They said anesthesia would be sedation anesthesia.. I am a scaredy-cat, so hearing that made me feel a little relieved. The doctor was the kindest of the five places I consulted, and I liked that he explained things in detail in an easy-to-understand way. However, even though I arrived on time for my appointment, I had to wait for about 30 minutes without any explanation, which was a little unpleasant (it would have been better if they had explained in advance, like if it was because of another schedule..). Considering the kind doctor, the method he recommended, and the relatively low estimate (with friend discount applied), it was my favorite of the five. But since 4 out of the 5 places I consulted recommended incision, and only Heart Plastic Surgery recommended buried sutures, I am thinking about consulting a few more hospitals that mainly recommend buried sutures before deciding whether that method is right for me.
