If you are dealing with cheekbone or facial contour surgery, or are preparing for surgery, please make sure to read this all the way through at least once. It has already been added to the blacklist in the entertainment industry. I hope you read to the end, and I hope something like this never happens to you...
Everything I am saying from here on is true, with undeniable evidence and recordings from earlier conversations after asking in advance.
❗️I have seen this kind of talking-around-the-point before, where later they say, "I never said that, that never happened, I don't remember." So I wrote everything exactly as said, without missing a single word. All consultations and follow-ups, everything without omission, every time I visited the hospital, from the surgery CCTV I have all the recordings and audio files, including ones from before, after asking in advance.
I heard it dozens of times without anything omitted, so this is the exact truth. There are evidence materials, photos, InBody, DICOM (CT), and the contents came from visiting 10 cosmetic surgery clinics in Gangnam that do facial bone contour surgery.
Even if I sue, there is already undeniable recorded evidence, and the content is so absurd that it would only expose them to false accusation charges in return.
❗️There is so much here that any judge in Korea, or anyone preparing for surgery, would be shocked by it, enough to want to throw eggs, so I cannot write everything, but even this alone makes me wonder how this can possibly be acceptable.
About cheekbones and contour surgery: I work in broadcasting, so to be honest, showing my face on camera is my job. It is a fact that facial bones are life itself.
Because of the nature of my work, I have no one I can talk to about this openly.
Only the people at my company, the CEO, and the staff know, and if things went well I was planning to go to this hospital. (Everyone in that field has already heard the result of my face and the recordings, so it is on a permanent blacklist.)
I am in a situation where I cannot even properly tell my family, and all filming and schedules have been canceled. It has already been 3 months.
People say things like this are written by surgery review apps, Gangnam Unni, brokers, or anti-posters on purpose... But even if they do, you just report it and have the post taken down.
Who can you trust, and how can you properly do in-person clinic visits and get a truly sincere and honest review? That is important, right..?
I do not think I can just let this go...
Even if I sue, it takes a lot of time and trouble, and I know that, so are they just telling me to sue anyway..? (That is why the company is preparing to file a case against that small clinic.) I really think the law for compensation for cosmetic surgery complications needs to be strengthened.
When I was getting follow-up care the day before surgery at [Clinic A],
they showed me multiple before-and-after photos of other people, with no mosaics, photos of their bare faces, and even photos of blood vessels bursting in the face during follow-up after surgery, so I thought it was a modeling clinic.
When I asked, "Is this clinic's model?" they said they were just patients who had undergone surgery. When I said, "You are not going to show mine like this later too, right...?" they said, "Well, we still have to see how it heals, don't we~" In other words, even though there were patient photos being shown without permission and with real names displayed, I was already suspicious from the fact that they were just showing bare faces.
At [Clinic A],
3 months ago, Surgery name: contour revision surgery (45-degree cheekbones, back cheekbones, chin)
There was no director available separately for general anesthesia, so they said someone had to be called in, and that it was 1 million won, but they would do it for 800,000 won. General anesthesia cost was separate: 800,000 won.
Post-op result: the bone connecting the side cheekbone disappeared, and the left side cheekbone spread apart.
The surgeon's excuse: when they opened through an incision on the sideburn area, the bone had already fallen off right away, so they just fixed it to the bone frame with a long plate. (At that point, I thought it was already difficult to stabilize the bone, but still, I thought it would be fortunate if it was at least fixed well.)
+ At one month: sinusitis and sinus infection on the right cheekbone side < They said this can happen from time to time, so since they were not responsible, I should go to an otolaryngologist and get treated there.
And for the left side cheekbone that had spread apart, they said it could be hammered back in. (I have all the recordings.)
+ At one and a half months: I was worried, so I made an urgent appointment and went to Gangnam Severance Hospital. ENT and plastic surgery both examined me. ENT said there was sinusitis and a sinus infection, (and said that if treatment did not work after taking antibiotics, we should do surgery right away.)
+ At 2 months: only one side remained swollen and puffy, and there were days when it hurt unusually badly. When I asked why it kept hurting when things seemed fine, they got angry and were so irresponsible that I went to another hospital known for contour reconstruction specialists.
11/27 ❗️Another hospital, reconstruction specialist
At my surgery hospital ([Clinic A] surgeon), they kept saying it was okay even though the cheekbone on the operated side hurt, so since I was worried, I went and brought the CT from the surgery hospital to show them in more detail.
1. Even the day before the cheekbone started to spread apart, the plate was not fixed properly, and it was visible that the pins were gradually loosening over time. In other words, overcorrection.
2. On today's CT, current state: the right cheekbone has fallen apart due to overcorrection, and the bone has dropped downward (right cheek sagging + facial asymmetry), nonunion caused by overcorrection
Solution: the surgeon at the hospital where I had surgery will of course deny responsibility and try to avoid it. For now, bring all records of the contour surgeries done so far and keep all the recordings. They said if I bring all CT files, they would help.
The very next day,
11/28 I urgently explained the situation to the manager at the surgery hospital ([Clinic A]), and they told me to come to the hospital first. I quickly made an appointment and got a CT scan.
11/28 ❗️[Clinic A]
Result: 1. Sinusitis + the 45-degree right cheekbone plate and pins fell off due to overcorrection, causing nonunion
+ At one month, the stitches inside the left back cheekbone had burst, and when they cut it open again, tied the stitches again, and checked, the scar opened even wider.
The first thing said before going into the surgeon's office after walking in: "Why are you pretending to be in pain again?" (I have recordings of everything, since I turned on the recorder every time I visited the hospital, including them saying I was faking it. Even listening again was shocking, and the other things they said made me wonder whether this is really how you should talk to a patient.) "I hate celebrities. Do they think they are some kind of princes or princesses?" "If you are going to be so picky, then just don't come to our hospital." (staff: front desk 1, nurse 1, manager 1)
After hearing that, I said, "I am sorry to say this, but I am not bragging. People who work in broadcasting really do live off their faces, to be blunt. Do you not know that my face breaking is the same as your hand bones being fractured, Director...?"
Then, even though the scar on the sideburn area had opened up so much, pretending it was fine, they said, "What, do you have prince syndrome too? Can't you just cut it open again and stitch it up?" and in that very spot they gave local anesthesia, made an incision, and retied the stitches... lol; Now the scar has opened even wider.
They should know that if they say things like this, it would be a big problem if patients knew. Yet they always act as if nothing is wrong and say, "Record it~ Record it. Do you think I'm afraid of anything? We are recording everything here too, so don't worry~ I am being recorded too."
I thought it sounded like a lie, so I wrote it down as heard from the recordings, and there were many other shocking things too. If it is a lie, I am confident I would be punished myself. I had already given permission for recording, and I recorded only after politely asking in advance, "Is it okay if I record this?" (There is a lot of undeniable evidence, so if I sue, I can also be charged with false accusation if necessary.)
Their excuse for that was: "It is your fault as the patient for not taking care of yourself properly by not eating well. And how am I supposed to trust that you managed things properly wherever you went?"
(I swear, I have really been eating only porridge and sitting or sleeping because I was afraid of complications. Even now. What kind of insane person would want complications when they need to get back to broadcasting as soon as possible? Who would want to recover slowly?)
Director: "You have to gain weight for the bones to stick, so why do you not listen when I tell you to gain weight?"
Me: Did the pins come loose because my weight went down and up by only a kilogram or so?
Director: "It is because you are not managing yourself properly~"
...
(Then at another hospital, does that mean skinny people should not do contour surgery at all, and only people with higher body weight should get cheekbone surgery? After surgery, because of the big swelling and not being able to open the mouth, it was hard to eat, so I lost weight. Then they say the bones did not fuse because I did not gain weight?)
At other hospitals, they had told me to go on a diet after surgery...
"The pins came loose because you do not properly take care of yourself and do not manage things well, and I am not responsible."
I feel utterly crushed. Did they make me like this and then want me to die? My mother is only shedding tears, and my family is worried about me, all filming dates were canceled...
(After surgery, because of the swelling, it was hard to eat properly, so I lost weight. I worked hard to manage myself, went jogging, took care of my health and swelling, and even gained weight. Then I woke up, could not even eat breakfast, and hurried to make it in time for the morning follow-up, only to be told I had lost 1 kg. They said, "If you lose weight, the bones will not fuse," and then claimed I was not listening because I would not gain weight... They kept saying it was entirely the patient's own management problem. I could barely chew and could hardly open my mouth, but I forced myself to eat anyway, and then I was told that if I do not gain weight, it is my fault.)
Their answer about sinusitis: "The sinusitis happened because of you, because you did not manage yourself properly .. That is not my responsibility~ Go to ENT and get treated where you had surgery."
Later they even said that was why the fixation pin came loose.. If the fixation had truly been done properly, would it have loosened and spread apart like that..
Or is it my fault for not gaining enough weight and failing to make the bone fuse?
If I want revision surgery for nonunion, surgery is only possible after 6 months, and they said they had no intention of doing it free of charge.
And while saying it had not spread apart much, they showed me a seriously affected patient photo.
"Manage it well so the bones can fuse even while they are spread apart." "And since surgery cannot be done right now, eat well and manage it properly until the 6-month mark so the bones can fuse."
"That damn managing well, managing well again.. The bone has fallen off, so why are they talking about managing well? Are they telling me to become asymmetrical..?"
It was really irresponsible, and because I work in broadcasting, everything became like this, my work and schedules were all canceled, and I felt like I was going to kill myself, so I went back to the hospital where I had surgery before..
+ I brought all CT files on a USB with the previous surgery records.
❗️11/28 Five contour specialists at different hospitals
The only excuse from the surgery hospital was:
1. Anyone can see that the 45-degree cheekbone plate fixation was too weak, so it came off, and it is in a state where it has dropped a lot.
2. Surgery can be done right away even now (incision inside the mouth can also be done right away even after one month)
3. The reason waiting is not acceptable is that if the bone drops in this state and then fuses, the bone and the living tissue will fuse together while it has dropped, so the bone will heal in the dropped position, causing facial asymmetry + the facial flesh will also sag together (cheek sagging)
4. The biggest problem is that the side cheekbone was removed, so the back cheekbone was fixed with a pin that is too long, making surgery difficult and not something that can be done easily.
5. Body weight has nothing to do with bone fusion.
6. The pin that was fixed and turned because of the sinusitis will not come loose.
11/29 Four hospitals with directors who have more than 15 years of contour surgery experience
Common point: when nonunion happens and the pins fall off like this as originally happened, you do not wait 6 months; you fix the plate again right away, and when doing revision surgery through an intraoral incision, it is correct to do sinus irrigation at the same time,
and compensation should be paid, or responsibility should be assigned.
The surgery hospital: ignores every contact, tells me to come for follow-up after just one month, and to eat well and gain weight so the bones can fuse ..
lol.. They removed the side cheekbone that was supporting the fixation, so now they say the face will cave in because the plate, instead of bone, will be living tissue, and the depression is gradually progressing. They are saying the pin removal can never be done again.
What am I supposed to do..
The CT costs from the other hospitals were over 1 million won in total, plus the surgery fee was 12 million won +
If I have to undergo surgery again, that would be another 6 to 10 million won.
Right now: the fixation plate keeps hurting due to overcorrection, I cannot open my mouth properly, and my face is asymmetrical..
I thought cosmetic surgery these days had no accidents, but even after this disaster, they just ignore contact.. and aside from follow-up visits, there is nothing. I really think they will receive divine punishment, so I do not understand how they can be so indifferent and irresponsible..
I have honestly been so exhausted that right now I even prepared charcoal in my room by myself..
If this kind of accident happens, how should one think about it and proceed? I am at a loss, and I really do not know what I should do..
