I was someone who was slim overall but had a puffy face because of buccal fat, with a recessed chin and a double chin. I consulted four clinics in Gangnam about buccal fat removal, and while the other plastic surgery clinics said they would need to make an incision on the inside of the cheek, remove part of the buccal fat, and then stitch the incision closed, only ChaiJeong said they would remove it completely by suction through a small opening. They also said that because the incision area is just a tiny opening, it would not need stitches.
Honestly, the doctor was not especially warm during the consultation, but I could tell he was confident in this area, and when he explained the surgical method, he seemed more professional than the others. He did not seem like the type to lure people in with smooth talk and overtreatment, so after the consultation I actually trusted him more.
I was also recommended jawline liposuction and fat grafting to the chin tip. The liposuction plus fat grafting consultation and surgery were handled by a different doctor from the one who did the buccal fat removal. It seemed like they each had different specialties, which made me trust them more.
The surgery was done under local anesthesia, not sleep anesthesia, so I had to keep opening my mouth during the operation. That was very scary and frightening, but it has now been more than 3 years since the surgery, and if I could go back to that time, I think I would endure the fear and have it done again.
After the surgery, I was told many times that my face looked smaller, and with the chin-tip fat grafting there was enough volume in the front of the chin that my face looked slimmer. However, because I tend to swell easily, the swelling at the chin-tip fat grafting area lasted a really long time. For up to 6 months, my chin was puffy and looked long. I think it only fully settled starting around the 1-year mark.
I am not sure whether it was because of the buccal fat removal, but I do have a slight hollow in the cheeks. I do not mind it much myself. I am satisfied.
Also, since it has been more than 3 years since the surgery, I do not really remember the exact price. I think it was a bit more expensive than other places.
