My Experience of Pain on the Day of Facial Contouring Surgery!

1. The pain of cutting bone? When I tell close friends that I had facial contouring surgery, they all say it must hurt because the facial bones are cut. But in my opinion, pain in the facial bones is a trial I could tolerate. I did not have a sensitive, aching feeling like when teeth are ground down at the dentist. It was just throbbing, as if I had been hit, and my face was very uncomfortable to move while I was hospitalized. In my case, my cheekbones barely hurt, and the square jaw area hurt a little more. 2. An unexpected ambush Only right after the surgery ended and I woke up from anesthesia did I realize that no one had told me about the pain on the day of surgery. After general anesthesia, they intubate the airway to maintain breathing, and this is the root of all evil. After surgery, of course you cannot even dream of breathing through your nose, so you have to breathe through your mouth like haa, haa. But because of the airway intubation, your throat is already in quite a lot of pain. Breathing through my mouth on top of that was so painful I felt like I was going crazy. People who have had a really severe throat cold will know. When your throat is badly swollen, not only speaking but even swallowing saliva and breathing through your mouth hurt a lot. You can think of it as having to spend a whole night in exactly that state. Your throat is dry and painful as if it is burning, but because you have to fast for 4 hours after surgery, you cannot even drink water. +) As an aside, I did not even know they would do nasal packing after surgery, and I lay on the operating table with my head totally in the clouds. So for the first 30 minutes when they did not remove the ventilator, I thought I could not breathe through my nose because of the ventilator. I was in so much pain that I could not pronounce things properly, but I asked how long I had to stay like this. They said I had to stay like that for 30 more minutes, so while praying for this pain to end, I counted to 1800 in my head. (There was no clock inside, so I did it primitively.) They removed it around 1491, but I still could not breathe through my nose... I slept badly all night. 3. Hunger and thirst In my case, I fasted for a very long time before surgery. The hospital told me to fast from about 8 hours before, but I missed the timing to eat, so I fasted for about 16 hours. I also did not drink much water. Do not do that. Once 4 hours pass after surgery, they do give you water and New Care, but your mouth is full of blood drainage... you are breathing through your mouth... it is extremely hard to eat. Throughout the sleepless night, I kept thinking about whether humans are animals that can breathe through the mouth and drink water at the same time. But you cannot. Of course, because of the pain, hunger is pushed a little to the back burner... but thirst is different. Your throat and mouth get extremely dry, so if there is something like a spray you use when your mouth is dry, ask once whether you can bring it. 4. Other very short and minor pains - It feels strange when they remove the blood drain. - It feels strange when they remove the nasal packing. But once this is over, you can breathe through your nose, so there is an incredible sense of liberation.
