My nose was originally very large and bulbous, so the fact that my nostrils looked too wide whenever I took photos was my biggest source of stress. I deliberated for quite a long time about whether to have alar reduction surgery, because I was worried they might be reduced in an obvious-looking way. But after having it done, it turned out much more natural than I expected, so I am satisfied. My overall nasal appearance is definitely neater, and my face feels less crowded than before. What is interesting is that it is not so obvious that people around me ask what I had done; they just tell me I look prettier, haha. This natural change was exactly what I wanted. Also, the scars I worried about are not merely barely visible now; I cannot see them at all, to the point that they do not concern me whatsoever. I used to be subtly self-conscious even when taking front-facing photos, but these days I think I take them much more comfortably. It feels naturally refined from a very large, bulbous nose without being excessive, so personally I think I made the right choice in having surgery.
