1. Gangnam ㅇㄴ ㄱㅅㅇ A very large hospital. There were many foreigners in the lobby. (After consultations, they were talking with interpreters in the lobby about where to go sightseeing, and it didn’t look that great.) I had a reservation but still had to wait. As soon as I arrived, I got a CT scan, had my side profile taken with a camera, waited, then had consultations in the order of consultant - lots of waiting - director - consultant. I didn’t request the CT, but they still put the data on a USB for me.
Consultation conclusion: Consultant: low nose, bulbous nose, osteotomy, hump nose Director: low nose, bulbous nose, recommended surgery on another area (not the nose, another area... but it’s a complex of mine, so I was tempted) Silicone 3.5. My septal cartilage was too small so it couldn’t be used, and they talked about donated costal cartilage, autologous costal cartilage, or ear cartilage. They said donated costal cartilage couldn’t be used because none has been coming in lately? They recommended autologous costal cartilage or ear cartilage + septal cartilage together.
It was my first consultation, so I came back feeling flustered, but I liked that the director was cool and the consultation time was fairly long. Because it was the chief director, the cost was much higher than with other directors, and since I consulted with the chief director, it was definitely not cheap compared with other hospitals (even if I used ear cartilage). The consultant pushed same-day booking so hard that it was a bit scary They asked how much I had been quoted up to and which other hospitals I had been to.
Conclusion: I shouldn’t go to large hospitals. Only here did I hear that I had a bulbous nose, and I went to 3 more hospitals afterward, but all of them said it was not a bulbous nose and that the nose shape itself did not need to be touched. The consultant looked busier than the director. Since then, I’ve only gone to hospitals with 1-2 directors.
2. Gangnam ㅁㅋ ㅇㅈㅈ CT scan, consultant - director - consultant consultation. Almost no waiting. The director was meticulous and gave me trust. They shaped the nose while looking at the 3D CT. There were many reviews saying they were unfriendly? scary, but overall I was satisfied with the consultation. I heard they use a lot of costal cartilage, but they said it was possible with septal cartilage. I said I wanted it to look noticeable but natural, not flashy, and maybe because of that, it didn’t feel like they were overquoting. They also had the option of custom silicone, so I asked first, but they said it probably wasn’t necessary. I asked about a bulbous nose too, and they said it was not a bulbous nose.
Conclusion: I only need low-nose surgery. Silicone 2-3 mm for the nasal bridge, use septal cartilage for the nasal tip first, and if that doesn’t work, add ear cartilage.
What was unusual was that the consultant? coordinator? gave me their personal number and said they would be assigned to me 1:1. They said to contact them anytime before and after surgery if I had questions. They were beside me during the director’s consultation, so there was continuity in the consultation.
There was some same-day booking pressure here too, and they offered a same-day discount price. My mind leaned toward this place because it felt like they weren’t overquoting + the consultant was kind + the director felt trustworthy.
After this consultation, I thought I should get it done by a director who does many revision surgeries. The cost is not cheap. I just think it is reasonable.
