I had nose surgery 2 weeks ago. I went around to a lot of places for consultations, and both the consultant and the director gave very thorough consultations. First of all, rather than the nose surgery hurting, it was so, so uncomfortable because I couldn't breathe. As for removing the stitches, maybe because I applied ointment well and put on a lot of ointment before going to get the stitches removed, it didn't hurt.
