I had consultations at 4 hospitals in December for revision eye surgery. The longest wait was about 2 hours. Because the wait was so long, both the front desk staff and the director-level consultant felt unfriendly. I’m not sure whether it just felt that way because I had waited 2 hours. It’s a hospital where the chief surgeon adds extra charges, and anesthesia is billed separately too. It was off-putting that they act like they are doing you a favor by discounting those costs. The price was high, the wait was long, and I felt like that kind of thing would carry over to the surgery day and even post-op care, so I took it off my list right after the consultation.
