When I went for a consultation about reconstructive medial canthoplasty, I asked whether it would be possible to close it in a pointed shape. Without any real explanation, they just said, “It’s possible.” So I asked my question: “At other clinics, I was told that restoration of the medial canthus can’t be reconstructed into a pointed shape. How is it possible here?” The doctor got angry and spoke as if I was being difficult. The doctor seemed extremely busy and short on time, but from a patient’s point of view, seeing the doctor get angry was scary, and their attitude made it impossible to ask anything else, so I stopped asking. During the consultation and even right before surgery, there was not a single word of explanation about the surgical method, and there was absolutely no careful examination like looking closely at my eyes up close or measuring the distance between my eyes with a ruler. The result was a disaster.
