About 4 years ago I had incisional eye correction + front upper canthoplasty at a plastic surgery clinic near my house, and the line was set way too high so I ended up with asymmetry. I originally had no double eyelids, so because I was getting double eyelid surgery I stupidly kept thinking it was just the awkward new crease and the swelling, and let time pass, but it was simply botched. My eyes looked puffy like sausages, and even though I went from no double eyelids to having them, I still looked sleepy. I recently learned that there is a surgery to lower just the double eyelid line, so after living with sausage eyes for 4 years, I finally had the line lowered and got rid of it, and it has been about 5 months since the surgery. The swelling has mostly gone down, so I now have a very natural double eyelid, and the line turned out much prettier than the old one. When I look at old photos, I’m shocked at how I lived with sausage eyes like that. The asymmetry, where one eye looked much less open, and the overall sleepy look are gone, and now that it was improved, I feel like I even look a bit sharper. Before surgery, I thought even a revision would still cost as much as a single double-eyelid surgery, but the before-and-after difference in my eyes was so stark that I don’t regret the money at all.
