I’m writing this hoping it helps people who are wondering whether to get revision epicanthoplasty. First, I had double eyelid surgery with epicanthoplasty and incisional surgery when I was young, 13 years ago. Back then, I thought that once you got double eyelid surgery, your impression was supposed to get sharper and make you look older, so I just lived like that for 13 years.. As time passed and my eyes gradually sagged a little, some parts became natural, and people always told me my eyes were big and pretty, so I got by okay. But every time I took a front-facing photo, I kept worrying about the way my face looked crowded and the surgical scar. Recently I learned that revision epicanthoplasty exists and I did a lot of research and watched tons of YouTube videos. I went to more than five places just for revision epicanthoplasty consultations, and among them Mate Plastic Surgery was not even on my list. The reason was that I already had a hospital I had basically decided on in my heart, but at that hospital they told me my eyes already looked pretty and that if I had surgery the Mongolian fold would appear and my eyes would get smaller than they are now, so I gave up. Then the manager at the hospital where I recently had nose surgery said that she herself had also had revision epicanthoplasty and recommended it to me too..? When I asked where she had it done, it was Mate. So after only looking at that manager’s eyes, I booked surgery at Mate right away, and looking back, I want to praise my past self so much. I had seen many reviews saying the doctor was meticulous, and he really is meticulous. None of the Mongolian-fold concerns I had worried about at other hospitals happened at all. My eyes were already on the larger side, so I didn’t really feel them getting smaller. People around me often said my impression became kinder. Everyone says I became prettier without knowing exactly what I did, and I’m so satisfied. Because the scar improved, I take more front-facing photos now and taking selfies became fun.
