I went for a consultation for front canthoplasty reconstruction... my eyes are in a rather ambiguous state, so even the director didn’t seem able to give me a clear consultation. Even while hearing whether it was better to do it or just leave it alone, I still couldn’t really tell. On the right, the lacrimal caruncle shows a little and it’s hook-shaped, while on the left the caruncle shows an appropriate amount but the Mongolian fold is left long, so the hook is deeper than on the right. My inter-eye distance is also a bit wide... so they said if I were to do reconstruction, I’d need to weigh the pros and cons carefully. They said it’s not a surgery to change the hook shape, but a surgery to cover the lacrimal caruncle. There was no definitive answer, so it was a bit frustrating, but it felt good that they gave me an honest consultation.
