Hoping this will be my last post here, I’m writing my review of revision surgery for a bulbous nose. Personally, this community helped me a lot, and I wanted to write a proper review too, so I’m posting after 4 months have passed since surgery. - Condition before surgery 1. I had medial incision cartilage tying -> it counted as revision surgery. If I had known that, I wouldn’t have done it... Of course it had no effect, and I ended up with a huge scarred mass. 2. I had a high bridge between the eyes, thick oily skin, a bulbous nose, blunt nostrils, and a nose tip that was almost nonexistent. Because of those two things, I heard every kind of pessimistic remark while going around for consultations... First I got pitying looks for why I had even done the cartilage tying... I also considered silicone for definite bulbous-nose correction, but several places advised against it because the bridge between the eyes was already high, and I was told that because my skin was thick, it would be hard to get a good frontal effect. - Reason for choosing the clinic 1. Review photos 60% Successful bulbous-nose correction cases are rare, so when I was looking for a clinic, I mostly looked at review photos. From the photos, I could actually see some reviews where the bulbous nose had been corrected, and the post-op nose shape was pretty and exactly my taste. 2. Consultation 40% I kept thinking about the consultation I had around March last year, so I had the surgery at Hit in October. The manager was also so kind and nice, but when I called to set the surgery date, she had already left because I called too late... I’m the type who studies a lot in advance, so I don’t have many questions, and consultations at plastic surgery clinics usually don’t take long for me, but Director Han Sang-cheol analyzed my face in such detail that the consultation took 3 to 4 times longer than at other clinics. The part that stuck with me most was how he pointed out the width between my eyes... Hearing that made me trust his aesthetic sense. I had narrowly escaped closely set eyes, but if the space between my eyes had been even a tiny bit narrower, it would have been risky. The director said that since the bridge between my eyes was already high, putting in silicone or being too ambitious could make the brows/inner eye area look crowded and change my expression, so if I was okay with it, we should raise the nose tip moderately with donated rib cartilage, and that it would be better to reduce the columella a bit, which was really nice... The side profile is so pretty. I had 6 or 7 nose consultations, but Director Han Sang-cheol was the only one who consulted me while looking at overall facial harmony. - Materials, surgery method, price I had a CT scan, and my septum was almost nonexistent, so they used donated rib cartilage. I worried a lot because autologous rib cartilage is trendy these days, but I didn’t have time to recover and this was revision surgery, so the cost was a bit burdensome, so I went with donated rib cartilage! Maybe because it was revision surgery, there was no event discount or anythingㅠㅠ Since I have rhinitis, the only thing I could claim through insurance was about 1 million won. - 4-month follow-up review According to the director, there was an unprecedented amount of scar tissue, so it was hard to remove. Maybe that’s why, right after surgery, even visually from the front my nose looked cut in half, and I was shocked. Is this me...? And for some reason I didn’t get any bruising at all, and the swelling went down really quickly, so people who saw me for the first time two weeks after surgery said they had no idea I’d had surgery. Even before the cartilage tying, I had scar tissue, and because my nose was a bulbous nose with thick skin, I was very careful and worried that scar tissue would build up again and my nose would go back to the way it was, so I cut out flour-like inflammatory foods and didn’t touch alcohol at all, but from week 4 the nostril area swelled up like crazy and became really puffy... I was so depressed thinking maybe this nose was just hopeless, but at my one-month checkup they said there was blood trapped in the nose, and since it had only been about a month since surgery, to trust the healing power and come back again in another month. But even in the second month the swelling around the nostrils didn’t go downㅠㅠ I was really down, but after the injection it went down a lot, and now it’s getting slimmer day by day. My boyfriend keeps looking at my side profile and saying, wow, it’s so pretty now!! Your side profile is so pretty now! so I’m really proud. I think they brought out the prettiest nose possible from my nose even without silicone. Personally, the best part is being able to take a front selfie and not need to edit the nose with an app. Today was my last checkup, and they said I probably didn’t need another injection and that if nothing unusual happens, I don’t need to come back, so I’m happy and writing this review!! The photos won’t upload hereㅠㅠ For anyone considering surgery because their nose is a complex, I hope whatever choice you make works out amazingly!!!
